OVERVIEW

In this course we present   the movements of the sea and the coastal surface oscillations of  oceanographic basins by means of numerical models  and experimental data of current meters and tidal gauges

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course addresses the students towards the capacity of analysing  ecological problems with the  possibilty of controlling  the  physical aspects of an oceanographic region

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

Teaching aims to obtain :1) the knowledge of the physical laws of the dynamic of the sea with  wind and atmospheric pressure forcing terms:  2)  the capacity of forecasting ocean currents and sea level oscillations by means of numerical models

TEACHING METHODS

Teaching is articulated in two modules: 1) the equations of motion of the  physical oceanography

2) the matlab exercises of applied oceanography The lesssons will be hopefully held in person with the possibility for students to follow even at distance via video conference on the Teams platform

The code to access the lesson on Teams is : vv2pp13
