AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The unit aims to provide knowledge and skills on the operating principles and analysis and design techniques of antennas and antenna systems. These topics are discussed both from a theoretical point of view and with reference to different applicative examples.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The aim of the module is to provide knowledge and skills related to antennas, with reference to both their operating principles and their use in different applicative areas. In particular, the student will acquire knowledge and skills related to the following main topics: Fundamentals of electromagnetic radiation and antenna parameters; Linear antennas, aperture antennas, reflector antennas, printed antennas; Arrays of antennas and their application for the realization of MIMO systems, intelligent and reconfigurable antennas. At the end of the module students will be able to understand and analyze the problems related to the study and design of antennas, and will be able to apply these skills in different applicative areas.

TEACHING METHODS

EXAMS

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The exam is oral.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The exam may cover the entire course program and it will be aimed at assessing the skills acquired by the students on antennas, with reference to both their operating principles and their use in different fields. The evaluation of the exam will be based on the quality of the presentation, the reasoning ability and the level of knowledge acquired by the students.

Students with learning disorders ("disturbi specifici di apprendimento", DSA) will be allowed to use specific modalities and supports that will be determined on a case-by-case basis in agreement with the delegate of the Engineering courses in the Committee for the Inclusion of Students with Disabilities.
