Strategic Programs has a multi-disciplinary approach, addressing project management, strategic management, planning, engineering, negotiation, international legal disputes, claim management, risk assessment, process/resource scheduling, project proposal writing and reporting, etc. The Course teaches qualitative and quantitative methodologies and techniques devoted to achieve project efficiency, effectiveness, competitiveness, reliability, risk management. At the end of the Course the Student will be able to be proactive within an organization dealing with international programs and to use main methodologies for project management. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES Individual study, attendance and participation in the proposed training activities will enable the student body to acquire advanced knowledge and skills in: Strategic Management; International Project Management International Project Management Certifications; Strategic Planning; Management Engineering and Logistics; Risk assessment and predictive methods. Decision support methods and techniques Project risk assessment Optimisation and decision making The learning outcomes relate to the realisation of the aforementioned learning objectives, including through the implementation of a project. At the end of the course the student will be able to analyse and design solutions based on the use of the techniques learnt. TEACHING METHODS The teaching consists of lectures, totalling 5CFU. In the course of the lectures, theoretical notions are given contextualised in the light of practical (historical and/or current) cases. Part of the programme will include the presentation of examples and use cases and the development of solutions using Python programming and dedicated libraries for project and risk management and optimisation. The teaching is jointly taught by several lecturers, each responsible for one part of the programme. The lectures will be taught by the following lecturers: Francesco Bellotti Agostino Bruzzone Elvezia M. Cepolina Stefano Dominelli SYLLABUS/CONTENT Algorithms for strategic management: critical path method (PCM), risk assessment and management, resource allocation and scheduling, quantitative decision support methods [F. The oral examination comprises the discussion of a project on one or more topics of the course. The examination may cover all course topics and is designed to test the acquisition of knowledge and skills for engineering project management, in particular with regard to strategic and decision-making aspects. Uniquely for the law part, the lecturer sets an optional, multiple-choice written test during the last lesson, which may exempt the person concerned from the corresponding part of the syllabus in the oral examination. ASSESSMENT METHODS The oral examination aims to verify the degree of maturity achieved by the learner in identifying, understanding and applying advanced project, problem and risk management techniques. The ability to independently develop solutions to project problems from a multidisciplinary perspective will also be tested.
