The student must gain the cognitive, methodological and behavioral instruments, allowing him to form the ability to: 1. communicate adequately with the ill person, their relatives and other sanitary professional figures; 2. define and interpret clinical problems through anamnesis, objective examination, laboratory and instrumental exams; 3. apply correctly the semiological procedures, understanding correctly the data, even from the pathophysiological profile, in order to frame them in the overall clinical case, of diagnosis and prognosis; 4. know the fundamental concepts of human sciences regarding current medicine, with particular focus on the ethical aspects and psychological dynamics.
Analyse the main scientific evidences on prevention of hospital infections.
Apply in simulations nursing techniques (venous sampling, Foley catheter, SNG)
Analyse doctor-patient communication situations.

Any Student with documented Specific Learning Disorders (SLD), or with any special needs, shall reach out to the Lecturer(s) and to the dedicated SLD Representative in the Department before class begins, in order to liase and arrange the specific teaching methods and ensure proper achievement of the learning aims and outcomes.
