OVERVIEW

Possibility of integration of surgical medical activities in order to optimize the balancing of therapies with proper planning and implementation of demolition and reconstructive techniques

AIMS AND CONTENT

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The students must have learnt the principal reconstructive or early intervention options for the various types of pathologies requiring a demolition and reconstructive action or first aid intervention in case of a traumatic event (e.g., burns)

Theoretical frontal lessons

Lane practice and operating room

Any Student with documented Specific Learning Disorders (SLD), or with any special needs, shall reach out to the Lecturer(s) and to the dedicated SLD Representative in the Department before class begins, in order to liase and arrange the specific teaching methods and ensure proper achievement of the learning aims and outcomes.

Skin Cancer: Knowledge of differential diagnosis of skin lesions

Burns: first-aid treatment, acute, post acute

Malformations: Basic knowledge of facial and thoracic skull malformations

Migraine surgery

Entrapment syndromes of the upper extremities

Grafts

Flaps

Breast reconstruction

Oral

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The verification of the learning takes place through ongoing oral test and final exam, that aim to evaluate the student's actual acquisition of expected learning outcomes.

The student to pass the exam has to obtain a score of not less than 18/30

They concur with the final vote expressed in 30:

- Ability to deal transversely and critically the arguments required;

- Fairness, clarity, synthesis and display fluidity;

- Mastery of the matter;

- Adopting appropriate terminology
