AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The TPVES includes exclusively practical professionalizing assistance activities, based on attendance in small groups of medical and surgical departments. It is aimed at promoting the creation of a progressive decision-making autonomy and the application of diagnostic and therapeutic pathways learned in previous courses. The final evaluation is based on the verification in a clinical and/or simulated environment of the professionalizing "skills" acquired during the studies.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the TPVES, the student must have acquired the ability to address the discussion on problems of clinical relevance in the medical and surgical area, showing himself capable of setting up differential diagnostic reasoning, based on observation, knowledge of epidemiological data, rational use of instrumental and laboratory investigations, and the possibilities of prevention of the most common pathologies. He will have developed the ability to define diagnoses and indicate the correct therapies including the most common surgical ones, to evaluate the prognosis, taking into account the psychophysical and social characteristics of the patient. In summary, he must have achieved the required medical and surgical skills.

PREREQUISITES

EXAMS

ASSESSMENT METHODS

When requesting to start an internship, or to start attending the GP, the student downloads a diary booklet on Aulaweb for each of the three periods of attendance.

The booklet must be filled out in all its parts by the teacher/Medical Manager/GP, who will issue, each for the part of their respective competence, formal attestation of attendance (stamp and signature), together with the evaluation of the results relating to the skills demonstrated, and expressing, if positive, the judgment of suitability.

The student will take care to note the days and times of attendance, describing the activities carried out also with reflective ideas on what was done and observed. This diary will be countersigned by the department tutor and the coordinating tutor teacher. The intern will declare that he has received from the tutor an opinion in itinere regarding the progress of the internship itself, by signing in the appropriate space in the booklet.

The department tutor will compile the final or intermediate assessment (in the case of attendance at two departments); at the end of the period the coordinating tutor will compile the final assessment of suitability or unsuitability.

The internship is passed only in the event of obtaining a suitability assessment issued by the managers for each of the three periods.

In the event of a assessment of unsuitability, the student will have to repeat the relevant internship.
