CODE 111614 ACADEMIC YEAR 2024/2025 CREDITS 10 cfu anno 1 CHIMICA E TECNOLOGIA FARMACEUTICHE 11674 (LM-13.) - GENOVA TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA MODULES Questo insegnamento è composto da: HUMAN ANATOMY (MODULE) ANIMAL BIOLOGY (MODULE) TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB OVERVIEW The main aim of the course is to provide an overview of the cell as a functional autonomous unit and as a component of more complex structures, as well as to provide the basis of Human Anatomy necessary to understand physiology, with the final goal to be able to understand drug action mechanism and related toxicity. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The course aims at providing students with basic knowledge of the molecular mechanisms supporting the principal cell functions (from morphology and internal organization up to gene expression regulation, generation of differentiated cell lineages and genetic traits transmission). Proper attention will be given to the human body organization and to the morphology of different systems and organs. The structure of the various organs will be studied at microscopic level to provide understanding of their function. PREREQUISITES Basis of biology and chemistry from secondary school TEACHING METHODS Any Student with documented Specific Learning Disorders (SLD), or with any special needs, shall reach out to the Lecturer(s) and to the dedicated SLD Representative in the Department ( Prof. Luca Raiteri, Luca.Raiteri@unige.it ) before class begins, in order to liaise and arrange the specific learning methods and ensure proper achievement of the learning aims and outcomes. VERY IMPORTANT: any request for compensatory tools and adaptations in the exam MUST be done within 10 working days before the date of the exam according to the instructions that can be found at https://unige.it/disabilita-dsa/comunicazioni TEACHERS AND EXAM BOARD RODOLFO QUARTO Ricevimento: By email appointment : rodolfo.quarto@unige.it KATIA CORTESE Ricevimento: By appointment via email cortesek@unige.it LESSONS Class schedule The timetable for this course is available here: Portale EasyAcademy EXAMS EXAM DESCRIPTION Final test is based on 30 written questions (multiple choice) and an oral test.
