Provide the students the know-how on metals and alloys in particular: the fundaments on the industrial metallurgical processes, the structural and chemico-physical characteristics, thermal treatments, mechanical properties, ideal stress and strain and elasti/visco-elestic/plastic models. Target of the course is alsoto introduce the students to the main electrochemical degradation processes and the protection methodologies.
The student will be trained in the field of material science and specifically on metals and alloys, metallurgical processes, chemico-physical properties of materials, thermal treatments, material degradation. Introduction to stress and strain relationship and models describing material deformations are further learning outcomes.
