A modern dentist must therefore be aware of these diseases, and gain a basic knowledge of their physiopathology, diagnosis and care. There is a high likelihood that the dentist will come across patients affected by cardiovascular diseases during his/her future practice. AIMS AND CONTENT AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The student will learn about the epidemiology, physiopathology, etiology, diagnostic and therapeutic approaches of main cardiovascular diseases. A particular attetion will be given to those cardiovascular conditions that can determine important complications to dental procedures and interventions. The course aims at providing the student sufficient knowledges and skills to be able to recognize and deal with cardiovascular patients at potential risk during his/her dental practice. The student will have to obtain a grade equal or greater than 18/30.
