CODE 68410 ACADEMIC YEAR 2024/2025 CREDITS 3 cfu anno 2 IGIENE DENTALE 9289 (L/SNT3) - GENOVA SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR MED/28 LANGUAGE Italian TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA SEMESTER 1° Semester MODULES Questo insegnamento è un modulo di: PRINCIPLES OF PATHOLOGY OF THE ORAL CAVITY TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB AIMS AND CONTENT AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES Acquire the knowledge necessary for a basic knowledge of the pathologies that affect, primitively and secondarily, the stomatognatic system and the adjacent clinical anatomy areas, for a correct approach to clinical examination, general dentistry, patients with the possibility to distinguish with certainty the conditions of real health of stomatognatic structures, in particular of the supporting tissues of the dental elements, from mild or high-grade pathological states. TEACHING METHODS Frontal and interactive lessons SYLLABUS/CONTENT Use the teaching material, with particular reference to clinical cases, to build, in the student, a methodological path that is as correct as possible for the approach to the patient potentially affected by oral pathology and to carry out a correct screening of the forms of relevance arriving, through practical exercises, the acquisition of the necessary manual skills to perform the main diagnostic methodologies. The student must demonstrate that he has acquired the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to follow a correct diagnosis. The oral exam will be based on the ability of a correct assessment in order to assess whether the student has reached an adequate level of knowledge and skills to be able to classify properly the pathologies of the oral cavity.
