Ample attention is given to the process of human evolution, the acquisition of upright posture, the encephalization and foot changes and spine following orthostatism. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The course has as main objectives: To enable students to address the issues concerning human evolution, the acquisition of upright posture, the structural changes that occurred during two million years; Becoming aware of the close relationship between the human being and his natural and social environment. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES Students must: -acquire adequate knowledge and skills of an effective understanding of the concepts in class. -be able to apply their knowledge and understanding and solving problems related to anthropology in all its extensions -know how to use both at the conceptual level and at the operational knowledge acquired through self-evaluation skills and abilities in different application contexts -develop appropriate learning skills to allow them to continue to independently investigate major issues of discipline, especially in the workplace in which they will operate. TEACHING METHODS The teaching is in classroom; we recommend the student to process the content after each detachment. SYLLABUS/CONTENT Definition and anthropology fields History of medicine The concept of normality The constant interplay between nature and culture: the example of secular trends The human differentiation in time and space Human evolution: from Australopithecines to Homo sapiens sapiens Structural Consequences associated with the acquisition of upright posture RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY Among the suggested readings for further study, with specific regard to the topics covered in the course: During the lessons in the classroom the teacher will indicate differents types of sources eg.
