To gain basic knowledge of the hemostatic principles in the context of the hamtologic issues that develop during hypothermia and long extracorporeal circulation. To know how to use anticoagulant therapies, exspecially heparins, and when and how to perform transfusion of blood or blood components. To understand the basic principles of anesthesiologhy. To know the main drugs used in the emergency setting. To know how to use heparins, and when and how perform a transfusion of blood components. To know the basic procedures used in anesthesiology, the main druges that are used and their interactions.
Any Student with documented Specific Learning Disorders (SLD), or with any special needs, shall reach out to the Lecturer(s) and to the dedicated SLD Representative in the Department before class begins, in order to liase and arrange the specific teaching methods and ensure proper achievement of the learning aims and outcomes.
