The teaching of basic first aid pharmacology is aimed to provide workplace safety professionals with the knowledge of pharmacological strategies most erffective for rapid mitigation against the most common medical enmergencies at workplace.
Specific objectives will regard the pharmacological approach to:
-Allergic crisis
-Anaphylaxis
-Acute cardiovascolar events
-Hyper- and hypotensive crisis
-Pain.
Particular focus will be placed on the situations that require such treatments, their contraindications and their adverse effects
The teaching of first aid and elements of pharmacology will be performed in form of front lessons. Any Student with documented Specific Learning Disorders (SLD), or with any special needs, shall reach out to the Lecturer(s) and to the dedicated SLD Representative in the Department before class begins, in order to arrange the specific teaching methods and ensure proper achievement of the learning aims and outcomes.
