OVERVIEW

The course aims, through its two modules of Atmospheric Dynamics + impacts of climate change and hydro-meteorological hazards, to provide an integrated view of the processes that lead to the formation of flood events, with the aim of providing students with the ability to assess, predict and prevent weather related risks, also in relation to future trends due to climate change.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Module HYDRO-METEOROLOGICAL HAZARDS:

The module aims to provide the student with the knowledge needed to interpret flood hazard maps and
provide the ability to map the same hazard with simplified methodologies.

Module  ATMOSPHERIC DYNAMICS + IMPACTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE

The module aims to provide the student with the knowledge of fundamental process of atmospheric dynamics as well as the corresponding conservation principles and their mathematical derivation.

The objectives are achieved through lessons and practical exercises in classroom and as homework
assignment
