The course illustrates both the essential technical aspects and the tools and systems, and may include an individual project in which the student develops his/her own product at professional and market standards. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES This course deals with the most advanced aspects of using personal computers and the network in digital society. Recruitment is that all kinds of documents of the past (notebook, book, picture, photography, movies, texts, sound recordings ...) and all kinds of dissemination of such documents (library, newspaper, television, telephone .. .) have now completed convergence towards a single technological means: the computer. Even though this name is already obsolete in itself, today one technology (the computer) is present in all devices that handle information, from phone to TV, from library to network (internet), tablet (tablet) Public services. It is indispensable, for information and culture, to know the aspects of this technology, as well as the principles of encoding all the information digitally (digital), and the aspects that most differentiate it from the previous world: speed, sharing and security. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES Following the Bloom's taxonomy, the student will achieve the following results (levels 2 to 4): Describe: 1) the fundamentals of how multimedia documents are encoded inside the computer and in the internet, and of the different tools for converting, writing and transmitting documents; 2) the world wide web and principles for designing web-based communication Apply: state-of-practice design schemes for multimedia communication and for the web Compare: different tools and techniques for writing, storing, communicating information, in particular for the web Design and test: a real website for culture, or commerce, or tourism, or similar fields of application PREREQUISITES Basic mathematics and English language. TEACHING METHODS The course will use the flipped classroom methodology. Aulaweb will be organized in weeks; at the beginning of each week the study texts will be published together with video lessons. On Thursday and / or Friday (in the official time slots) there will be meetings with students to discuss the program published at the beginning of the week. For the system to be effective, students must study the material before each lesson-meeting. During these lessons there will be exercises and discussions in small groups (4 or 5 students), of varying composition. Students in possession of certification of disability, DSA or special educational needs must contact, at the beginning of lessons, both the teacher and the department's disability contact, Prof. Serena Scotto (scotto@economia.unige.it) , to agree on teaching and examination methods which, in compliance with the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning methods and allow the use of any compensatory tools. The study material in pdf format will comply with the ISO 14289 standard for DSA accessibility.
