AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

This unit will cover the general principles for design and development of wearable devices for biomedical applications (diagnosis and monitoring of functions). This includes sensors, actuators and micro-controller programming.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

This unit intends to provide students with the essential tools to design wearable devices for medical applications.

At the end of this unit the student will be able

  • to identify the correct sensor and/or actuator for a given application
  • to design and implement an embedded system for signal acquisition and/or device control

TEACHING METHODS

Combination of lectures, lab activities and project work

SYLLABUS/CONTENT
