The course is divided into two modules and aims to provide students with knowledge of the mechanical behaviour of biological tissues. In each module, the instructors will propose a hands-on project for students to work on during class hours. For each project, students will be required to formulate a mathematical model and solve it using analytical and/or numerical techniques.
The course will provide the fundamental concepts of biological tissue mechanics and teach students how to formulate appropriate mathematical models. It will also cover elements of numerical analysis and analytical techniques.
Basic knowledge of physics and mathematics.
Ricevimento: Students can email the teacher to schedule personalised appointments.
Ricevimento: contact the teacher to set up 1 to 1 meetings at agnese.seminara@unige.it
Students will have to prepare individual reports on their work on the two projects. The exam will be an oral discussion of such reports.
The exam will consist in an oral discussion of the student's reports. The reports themselves will be evaluated on the basis of the results obtained and the clarity and quality of presentation.
