Pediatric hematology course
Diagnostic orientation in the context of the complexity of hematology and hemato-oncology diseases in order to understand and rationalize the care process. Focus on 1) interpretation of blood count in different pediatric age; 2) implementing of safe blood product transfusions; 3) management of immunocompromised patient; 4) principles of chemotherapy; 5) assistance to the coagulopathic child.
Frontal lessons
1.Introduction to pediatric haematology (normal values, hematopoiesis, transfusion compatibility)
2.Anemia in Pediatrics: analysis of the pathogenesis in different pediatric ages, diagnostic and therapeutic emergencies.
3. White Blood Cells disorders: neutropenias and immunodeficiencies, diagnostic guidelines, therapeutic approach.
4. Platelet diseases: thrombocytopenia and thrombocytosis. Clinical presentation, therapeutic emergencies.
5. Remarks on coagulation.
