AIMS AND CONTENT

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The aim of the course is to provide the technician in training with a general overview of the pathologies that have surgical interest in patients with complex disabilities (dysphagia and gastroesophageal reflux, megacolon and constipation, neurological bladder and urinary tract malformations, pelvic floor rehabilitation), so that he can acquire practical management skills on the devices applied to patients with complex disabilities, such as stomas, in order to best face the rehabilitation paths together with the patient and caregivers.

TEACHING METHODS

Frontal lectures and practical exercises in the gastrointestinal surgery clinic and the urodynamics nursing clinic

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

Upper gastrointestinal tract pathologies (diagnostics and therapy), GERD and treatment in laparoscopic and non-laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery. Lower gastrointestinal tract pathologies (diagnostics and related surgical treatments), intestinal innervation diseases and constipation.

Urinary tract malformation pathology (diagnostics and related surgical treatments) Neurological bladder Surgical techniques and post-operative management of the fragile patient with complex disabilities in the developmental phase (laparoscopic and non-laparoscopic surgery of the esophago-gastric junction, stoma preparation, post-operative medical-nursing management)

Pelvic floor rehabilitation techniques with practical training on urodynamic examination and training on bladder catheterization

EXAM DESCRIPTION

Written exam with 15 multiple choice questions to be completed in approximately 20 minutes

2 points will be awarded for each correct answer, considering a minimum of 10 correct answers to obtain a score of 18/30. Optional questions may be included and evaluated for possible honors.

Attendance at practical exercises gives the right to 1 credit, which will be evaluated in the overall test result (15 correct answers 30/30, 1 attendance bonus 30/30 and honors)

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The exam will allow you to verify the achievement of the expected learning outcomes because specific knowledge is required, well defined and outlined during the lessons

During the course, mini multiple choice tests on the previous lesson may be carried out to verify any need for comparison and explanation
