AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

Regarding the subject of Anesthesiology, the teaching aims to:
Provide students with knowledge on general anesthesia and regional site
Provide students with the basics regarding clinical and pharmacological features
Introduce the topics by means of post-operative analgesia.
To develop in the students the recognition skills of the critical pediatric patient, respiratory and cardiocirculatory failure
Provide students with the basics of initial treatment
To allow students to review the maneuvers of pediatric BLS

Expected Learning results

At the end of the course, the studentwill be able to:

Know the peculiar and characteristicaspectsrelated to general and locoregionalanesthesia

Describe the fundamentalmoments and milestones of an anaesthesiologicalpath (from the preoperativeevaluation to the phases of induction, maintenance and awakening)

Know the basicprinciples of postoperative analgesia and the thedifferentdrugsused

Recognize the symptoms and signstypical of a criticaland instablepediatricpatient

Evaluate the possibleneed for specific help and put the first rescueactionsintopractice

Recognize a pediatricpatient in cardiocirulatoryarrest and practicebasiccardiopulmonaryresuscitation
