CODE 68664 ACADEMIC YEAR 2025/2026 CREDITS 1 cfu anno 1 TERAPIA DELLA NEURO E PSICOMOTRICITA' DELL'ETA' EVOL 9287 (L/SNT2) - GENOVA SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR MED/48 LANGUAGE Italian TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA SEMESTER 1° Semester MODULES Questo insegnamento è un modulo di: NURSING, MOTRICITY AND REHABILITATION IN THE PEDIATRIC AGE TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB OVERVIEW The course integrates with the others belonging to the course, in a path that, starting from the regular psychomotor development of the child, deals with the pictures that deviate from it, starting from the psychomotor retardation to mental retardation, with the relative enabling and rehabilitation interventions. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES Acquire the basic principles of preventive, curative, palliative and rehabilitative nursing general assistance, above all with a view to preventing illness, assisting the sick and disabled with particular attention to the pediatric age. To know the physiological foundations of psychomotor, psychological and cognitive development, of motor skills, of verbal and non-verbal communication, of language and of learning. To know the general interventions of prevention, therapy and rehabilitation of neuropsychiatric diseases, above all in view of the collaboration with the multi-professional team of Child Neuropsychiatry, with the other disciplines of the pediatric area and of the other health professions. To know the general concepts of Chineseology as a science of movement, of the functional properties of the different tissues that make up the locomotor apparatus and of the segmental movement and of the articular biomechanics. To know the clinical pictures and the main causes of psychomotor and mental retardation and of the consequent prevention, therapy and rehabilitation interventions, in order to formulate the relative objectives of neuropsychomotor intervention. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The aim of the course is to: -provide students with the basic notions of motor, psychomotor, cognitive and relational development in developmental age -provide students with a general understanding of existence of evolutionary sequences in the various areas of development, of their mutual interaction as well as of the influence in relation to the family and social environment. -to introduce the issues related to the need to recognize early when the development of the child deviates significantly from that expected for that age, configuring a framework that can be traced to a development disorder. -to make students acquire the ability to observe . - develop in students the ability to gather information and data and the skills related to their organization to develop a profile of development of the child. EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES: At the end of the course, the student will be able to: -Know the basic elements of motor, psychomotor, cognitive and relational development in developmental age. -Describe analytically the data that emerge from direct observations, conducted possibly in different situations (structured, free, clinic, school ...) and indirect through interviews with the people who take care of the child (parents, other family members, teachers). -Explain to families the importance of an evaluation of their development child, the meaning of the observation, the methodology that will be used. -Compare the child's skills in the different areas of development, with those that we reasonably expect for his chronological age. -Construction / designing tools that facilitate the organization and analysis of data collected and related to the different areas of development (graphs, diagrams, grids ...), allowing the comparison between assessments made at a later time to monitor changes, both in situations follow-up, both during a rehabilitation program. -Distinguish the conditions in which the deviation from the line of development related to age belongs to the general individual variability in the rhythms of development or may be the signal of a possible evolution towards a development disorder. -Recognize precociously the conditions in which the development of child deviates, homogeneously or inhomogeneously, from what is the sequence of the acquisitions related to the different skills. -To apply the observation and evaluation methodologies specific to the different functions. -Critically evaluate the possible situations and the environmental factors that, independently from the characteristics of the subject, can interfere with the regular development. TEACHING METHODS Frontal lesson for a total of 10 hours with use of slides and videos with subsequent comparison. Students with valid certifications for Specific Learning Disorders (DSA), for disabilities or other educational needs are invited to contact the teacher and the referent for the School/Department disability at the beginning of the course to agree on any teaching methods that, in compliance with the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning methods. SYLLABUS/CONTENT The psychomotor development of the child from 0 to 5 years: 1)Observation and evaluation of the development: general notions 2)The development in all its aspects: motor, cognitive, language/communication, sensory, play, social, self-care skills. 3)The cognitive development: stages of intelligence development according to Piaget ; the symbolic representation: the graphic development, the development of the symbolic game. 4)The development of the body schema and its assessment. Other goals include: -Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. - Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls. 5)The development of language: communication skills, pre-verbal and verbal production, pre-verbal and verbal comprehension. 6)Psycho-affective development: development phases according to Freud's psychoanalytic theory RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY slide -"Dalla nascita ai 5anni", Sheridan, Ed. Thirty-second score according to the level of knowledge and training acquired. ASSESSMENT METHODS The exam tests are designed to verify that the expected learning outcomes have been achieved: ---- -acquisition of specific notions related to the discipline to evaluate their knowledge, using specific clinical terminology; -ability to use operational tools that apply the acquired knowledge, for example through the evaluation of the development of a hypothetical child, -communication skills through the oral examination, using clinical terms, -ability to use the different information collected to evaluate the different clinical situations, acquiring the ability to judge independently.
