OVERVIEW

The course aims to provide the basic knowledge for the development of a visual communication project, with particular reference to graphic design in the nautical field.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The aim of the workshop is to introduce the fundamentals of graphics. Shapes, proportions and color. Introduction to the main graphics software.

The course provides the basic knowledge needed to master the principles of graphic communication and to develop a visual project that uses contemporary communication vectors with particular references to the nautical field.

PREREQUISITES

No prerequisites are required, as the course addresses issues related to the discipline starting from the basic notions.

TEACHING METHODS

The lesson delivery methods include a part of frontal lessons and a relative application through synthetic project experiences conducted individually or in groups and in any case discussed together with the teacher.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

Introduction to the course. Printed communication and multimedia communication. The components of visual communication: SIGN, WORD, IMAGE. From sign to text: the graphic value of the written word. Editorial products: nautical magazines and web graphics. From logo to coordinated image. Introduction to the use of processing software and graphic design.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The written part is the tables made during the teaching. The oral discussion allows to evaluate the expressive and motivational skills of the candidate.
