It aims to provide in-depth knowledge of the rules relating to some other material policies of the European Union. The teaching is essential for working within professional firms or businesses, the judiciary, the public administration or international organisations. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The course aims to provide students with the basic tools to research and study EU law, with a view to allow them to comprehend, know, illustrate and develop their own reasoning relating to main aspects of the EU integration process. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The course aims to provide an advanced understanding of some material rules of European Union law and some policies within the competence of the European Union, in particular: · Judicial protection in the EU with specific regard to the preliminary ruling instrument · EU external action · The regulation of artificial intelligence in the EU At the end of the course, the student will be able to: · Know and report the above-mentioned material and political rules of the EU in their contents, inspiring principles and objectives; · Analyze specific legal issues and identify the rules of European Union law relevant to their solution; · Apply the relevant rules, distinguishing the cases and creating connections with the categories studied, for the solution of concrete and specific legal problems; · Conduct research regarding the sources of European Union law and the case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union; · Appreciate and critically evaluate independently the legal and political-social implications of the choices made at all levels of governance of the European Union legal system; · Analyze current issues relating to the process of European integration, and independently appreciate the implications of any reform processes underway; . Express oneself with appropriate technical language, both orally and in writing, on issues concerning European Union law. PREREQUISITES The prerequisites set out in the relevant Manifesto degli Studi apply. TEACHING METHODS The course consists of 54 hours of lessons held by the teacher also through exercises consisting of the classroom examination of the contribution of the Court of Justice to the development of European Union law, providing for the prepared and active participation of students in the presentation and oral discussion of cases already decided by the Court. Therefore, the lessons will be held with the help of teaching material, also available on the University portal www.aulaweb.unige.it. For a better organization of the teaching activity, students are asked to register on the course website as soon as possible. In order to allow the aforementioned oral discussion of the cases, the calendar of all lessons will be communicated in advance and the reference documents available on the University portal will also be indicated. In the case of distance learning, the lessons will be held on the "Microsoft teams" platform, according to the instructions that will be communicated by the teacher. Dedicated modalities may be reserved for attending students (at least 2/3 of the attendance). Students with duly certified learning disanìbilities may contact the teacher to take advantage of the exam modalities reserved for them. ASSESSMENT METHODS The oral exam is normally divided into at least two open questions, on topics representative of the entire teaching program. More information on the assessment methods for attending students will be provided in class. In any case, the questions posed to the student will be aimed at ascertaining the actual knowledge of the concepts and institutions of European Union law as well as verifying the ability to critically analyze and apply these concepts and institutions in practice in order to solve specific legal issues. In addition to knowledge of the contents of the teaching program, the quality of the presentation, the appropriate use of specialized technical language, and the ability to analyze and reason critically will be used as an evaluation parameter.
