SEMESTER 2° Semester

OVERVIEW

The class will provide the main mathematical tools needed to address the next university classes.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The main aim of the class is to provide students with the basic mathematical tools used in other topics studied in the future. Contents: - sets, sets of numbers, the concept of function. - Real functions of a real variable: limits, continuity, derivatives and differentials, the study of functions. Real functions of more variables: introduction.  - Linear algebra: vectors, matrices, linear systems.- Economic applications to financial mathematics.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

Teaching will be done by treating the various topics starting from the basic knowledge of new student from schools of different types. This approach is aimed at encouraging learning.

PREREQUISITES

A solid knowledge of the mathematics commonly taught in high school is assumed.

TEACHING METHODS

lectures and exercises.

Classes material is on aulaweb.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

EXAMS

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The student’s preparation is assessed through a final exam, consisting of one or more exercises and a set of theoretical questions (definitions, statements, applications, etc.).

The specific examination procedures will be communicated and published on AulaWeb by the instructor during the course.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The preparation of the student is assessed by a final examination.

FURTHER INFORMATION

Any additional information will be provided by the instructor at the beginning of the course
