OVERVIEW

The Integrated Medical Sciences I course is divided into 6 modules: Internal Medicine, gastroenterology, cardiology, dermatology, occupational medicine and clinical laboratory. The purpose of this teaching is the acquisition of notions on the main acute and chronic diseases specific to each discipline of dental interest.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course is aimed at acquiring notions on the main acute and chronic diseases specific to the individual courses. The main educational objective is the knowledge of paths to be followed by dentistry to reduce the risk of complications, including infectious ones, in daily professional practice.

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The exam includes an oral or alternatively written test depending on the single course in which the student will have to demonstrate the ability to have learned the basic notions of the single courses.

In case of emergency, when possible and according to the university indications, the activities will be carried out online.

During the exam, the rules regarding the assessment method of DSA certified students or students with other educational needs indicated by the university will be respected. (e.g.: additional time in the case of written exams, use of concept maps to be viewed for approval by the teachers at least one week before the exam date).

ASSESSMENT METHODS

Therefore, in order to pass the exam, the Student with a grade of not less than 18/30 must demonstrate that he possesses the knowledge and skills listed in the Educational Objectives.

The following contribute to the final grade expressed out of thirty: 1) Ability to treat the required topics in a transversal and critical manner, 2) Correctness, clarity, synthesis and expository fluidity, 3) Adoption of appropriate terminology.
