Also the topic of patient-doctor relationship will be analyzed, focusing on fundamental themes such as communication with the ill or the psychological implications of the illness. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES Gaining knowledge on the principles behavioural and emotional analysis is based on, in order to develop a capacity of self-evaluation and experience in the relationship-communication field. Ability to recognize the main behavioural risk factors as cause of social distress and identify the characteristics of different human groups. Gaining communicative and social skills, both for the doctor-patient relationship and for istitutional relationship. Define the theoretical framework of health and illness with particular attention to the psychologic background and the psychosocial component. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES To acquire the main methodological and clinical elements used in medical communication. To develop relational skills, the ability to communicate clearly and humanely with patients and their families, and to collaborate with various professional figures in different healthcare activities. To understand the clinical relevance of the physician-patient interaction from an integrated perspective of the health-disease relationship. TEACHING METHODS Lectures, case discussions, classroom discussions. The test will consist of multiple-choice questions related to the entire course content. The oral exam sessions will follow, according to the exam schedule. ASSESSMENT METHODS The self-assessment test will verify the level of learning achieved, which will be further examined during the oral exam. In addition to testing knowledge of the course content, the oral exam will assess the ability to analyze and frame clinical cases from the perspective of the physician-patient relationship.
