OVERVIEW

Language, culture and institutions of English-speaking countries II aims to provide communication skills in English at a B2 + level  of the CEFR for students who achieve 6 ECTS and a C1 level for those who obtain 12 ECTS.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The aim of the module is to consolidate the student's skills acquired in the previous exam and introduce them to the analysis of specialized discourse (politics, diplomacy, economics). At the end of the course students will be able to express their ideas on social and political issues through presentations and speech-delivery in order to improve their skills in public speaking.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the course, students should be able to know the basic principles of public speaking and apply them in cases where active participation is required in debates and meetings. The expected linguistic levels are B2+ for those taking 6 CFUs and C1 for those taking 12 CFUs

PREREQUISITES

Having acquired at least a B2 level of linguistic competence

TEACHING METHODS
