CODE 94629 ACADEMIC YEAR 2025/2026 CREDITS 10 cfu anno 1 ENGINEERING FOR NATURAL RISK MANAGEMENT 11921 (LM-26 R) - SAVONA LANGUAGE English TEACHING LOCATION SAVONA MODULES Questo insegnamento è composto da: COMMUNICATION NETWORKS FOR EMERGENCY AND MONITORING DISTRIBUTED ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGIES FOR ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING OVERVIEW The class aims at giving basic knowledge about two correlated topics. On one side, the objective is to present the main network technologies with a particular focus on Internet and wireless ones and their usage within monitoring and emergency management. The class contents are organized into four parts, addressing network basics, Internet technologies (TCP/IP), wireless technologies, and finally, their applications for monitoring and emergency management. On the other side, the basic concepts of technologies for modern electronic embedded systems will be introduced, from sensor devices and sensing methods to wireless sensing networks for environmental monitoring. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES This teaching unit provides basic knowledge of telecommunication networks and electronic systems for remote and on the field environmental monitoring. Topics include wireless communication protocols, sensor networks, embedded systems, and IoT technologies. Practical sessions and simulations support the theoretical concepts.
