AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The objective of the course is to provide students with the practical tools necessary to tackle geotechnical engineering problems consistent with the professional profile of a master's graduate. The course aims to impart the knowledge and methods for analysing the behaviour of major geotechnical systems (shallow and deep foundations, rigid and flexible retaining structures, slope stability) that are preparatory to their design and verification. TEACHING METHODS The course is structured into lectures, exercises, and case study discussions. Laboratory visits will also be organised. Students who have valid certification of physical or learning disabilities on file with the University and who wish to discuss possible accommodations or other circumstances regarding lectures, coursework and exams, should speak both with the instructor and with Professor Federico Scarpa (federico.scarpa@unige.it ), the Polytechnic School's disability liaison.
