CODE 66752 ACADEMIC YEAR 2025/2026 CREDITS 2 cfu anno 2 EDUCAZIONE PROFESSIONALE 9280 (L/SNT2) - GENOVA SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR M-PSI/04 LANGUAGE Italian TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA SEMESTER 2° Semester MODULES Questo insegnamento è un modulo di: PSYCHOLOGY I TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB AIMS AND CONTENT AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The course aims to: promote knowledge of the main theoretical models in developmental and educational psychology; provide basic knowledge of the major stages of psychological development, as well as the underlying processes and the factors that influence them; develop understanding of the main tools used in developmental and educational psychology for the assessment and implementation of projects aimed at promoting individual well-being. By the end of the course, students will be able to: demonstrate knowledge of the main explanatory models of psychological development; recognize developmental changes in the perceptual, linguistic, cognitive, emotional, and socio-relational domains; distinguish the most appropriate research methods used in the study of developmental processes and psychological transitions; critically evaluate the use of assessment and intervention tools; design and/or evaluate intervention programs in developmental psychology aimed at promoting individual well-being; use the technical terminology specific to the discipline. TEACHING METHODS The course primarily consists of lectures supported by slides, complemented by discussions on specific topics and group activities focused on the use of some assessment and/or intervention tools commonly employed in the Developmental Psychology field. SYLLABUS/CONTENT The program includes: the definition of the disciplinary field, the history of the discipline, the main theoretical approaches, research methods, tools, and the knowledge developed to date regarding psychological development across the lifespan, with particular attention to developmental age and the following domains: physical, motor, perceptual, cognitive, emotional, and socio-relational. Assessment for this specific module consists of a multiple-choice quiz administered on digital devices and a written assignment involving open-ended questions. ASSESSMENT METHODS The exam allows to verify the following skills/knowledge and competences: the acquisition of specific content; the skills acquired in the area of assessment and design; the critical analysis of the concepts; the use of specialized and technical language specific to the discipline. The acquisition of specific contents and skills in assessment and design are assessed through the multiple-choice quiz; critical analysis skills and the use of specialized language are assessed through the responses to open-ended questions.
