AIMS AND CONTENT

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the conclusion of the course, knowledge should be acquired relating to:

  • The scientific method applied in the field of motor and sports sciences;
  • The history and fields of application of techniques for the analysis of sport gesture;
  • The difference between qualitative and quantitative approaches for a comprehensive view in studying, describing and analyzing human movement;
  • How to read scientific literature in the field of motor and sports sciences.

TEACHING METHODS

The course consists of lectures, for a total of 8 hours. Attendance is mandatory, as stated in the Academic Regulations.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

The course aims to provide the necessary knowledge to evaluate and design a research project within the various disciplines related to the motor and sports sciences, with particular reference to the field of adapted physical activity. Specifically:

  • The scientific method applied to research in motor sciences
  • The research cycle
  • Research methodologies
  • Types of scientific publications

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The exam will cover the topics discussed during the lectures and will aim to assess not only the achievement of an adequate level of basic knowledge, but also the acquisition of the ability to critically analyze the questions presented.
