By the end of the teaching module, students should have acquired knowledge of:
The methodologies for using different instruments to analyze movement, its associated neural correlates, and the parameters measured;
How to set up data acquisition related to human movement and its neural correlates using the equipment employed during the technical-practical activities;
How to perform statistical analyses on collected data, interpret the results—including through appropriate graphical representations—and draw conclusions based on the acquired data.
The course consists of technical-practical lessons, totaling 20 hours, during which various instruments for the analysis of movement and its neural correlates will be used. Attendance is mandatory, as stated in the Academic Regulations.
The course aims to provide basic skills for using tools to evaluate motor gestures and their associated neural correlates, exploring their technical characteristics, advantages, and limitations. Specifically, technical-practical activities will be offered involving the use of the following equipment:
Optoelectronic systems for kinematic movement analysis
Innovative tools for the quantitative assessment of movement kinematics
Inertial systems
Electromyography
Tools for assessing strength and power
Instruments for studying brain activity
Additionally, software for statistical analysis and data visualization will be used during practical exercises.

The ATP does not provide a graded exam. Nevertheless, the knowledge gained in this course will be helpful for successfully completing the exam of the associated theoretical course.
A minimum of 70% attendance is required to take the theory module exam.
It is recommended, at the beginning of the course, to subscribe to Aulaweb so as to receive information and be kept up-to-date on teaching details.
In case of certification of specific learning disorders (DSA), disabilities or other special educational needs, it is necessary to contact the Referring Lecturer of the DISABILITY and DSA Commission for DIMES, Prof. N. Girtler (nicolagirtler@unige.it) who, after assessing the individual case, will send the teachers the necessary indications both for the development of the lessons and for the way of conducting the examination.
