E ADATTATA 11889 (LM-67 R) - GENOVA SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR SPS/08 LANGUAGE Italian TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA SEMESTER 2° Semester MODULES Questo insegnamento è un modulo di: SOCIOLOGY AND PSYCHOLOGY AIMS AND CONTENT AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The course aims to develop skills relating to the sociological approach to the study of culture, religion, mass communication, new media. At the end of the course, students could analyze processes, value orientations and regulations that characterize the social and cultural dynamics. They will be able to analyze the processes and the main agencies of socialization (family, school, religion, mass and new media). In a specific part of the course, we are going to analyze the social effects of the pandemic, attempting the possible future social scenarios. Learning outcomes: - The student will have to show assimilation of the contents of the discipline. In particular, he or she will be able to provide evidence of a correct understanding of the principles and contents of the course, expressing them with mastery and originality. - The student will be able to apply the knowledge acquired during the course and use a specific know-how to complete tasks and solve problems related to the discipline, in particular on research applications; will show cognitive skills (use of logical, intuitive and creative thinking) and practices (involving the ability to use methods and tools specific to the discipline). - The student will be able to reflect independently on the course content and present it in an original way. - The student will know how to use the knowledge provided during the course to analyze social phenomena and implement autonomous insights, exposing their own conclusions through effective communication models. - The student will be able to work in a group and demonstrate his ability to synthesise and present the course content. He or she will also be able to work independently on a number of topics. PREREQUISITES The student must preferably, but not necessarily, have taken a general sociology examination. TEACHING METHODS The teaching will be carried out through distance learning and the use of technological supports on the Teams platform. Students will be actively involved through workshops and seminars for in-depth analysis of cultural and thematic material. The possibility of working with the classroom on thematic insights of particular interest to students will be evaluated, an activity that could produce written elaborations. SYLLABUS/CONTENT The course aims to develop skills relating to the sociological approach to the study of culture, religion, mass communication, new media. At the end of the course students could analyze processes, value orientations and regulations that characterize social and cultural dynamics. They will be able to analyze the processes and the main agencies of socialization (family, school, mass and new media). The course will analyze youth culture, peer groups and family relationship as agents of socialization. A special attention will be given to the Sport as social and cultural phenomenon and the experiences of Italian Sports High School. Finally, we will try to analyze the social effects of the pandemic, how it has impacted on the health and sports professions and on the social behavioral.
