To know the principal pathologies that ask for a surgical intervention and the complications to them correlate. To learn the principal elements about the main classes of drugs, their therapeutic uses, variability of answer, adverse reactions and the toxicity of drugs and substances of abuse. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES To know the pharmacological actions, the meaningful adverse reactions , the contraindications and precautions of use of drugs used in disorder of cardiovascular system, of gastrointestinal tract and endocrine system. To acquire knowledges on the drugs to employ in acute and chronic inflammatory pathologies of the pediatric age. Finally it will be objective of the course to know the drugs employed for the prevention of the cardiovascular events with particular respect to the use of the anticoagulants and the tromboliticis. To acquire theoretical competences and practices for an optimal job of team. TEACHING METHODS The frontal lessons are held with the help of slides that are made available to all the students on Aulaweb. During the frontal lessons, through interactive teaching, it is tried to correlate the educational programmers of the previous years. Students with a certified learning disability, disability or other special educational needs are invited to contact the lecturers at the start of the course to agree on teaching methods which, whilst respecting the course objectives, take into account individual learning styles and provide appropriate compensatory tools. SYLLABUS/CONTENT Drugs active on cardiovascular system (antihypertensive agents, diuretic) Drug active on the endocrine system (insulin and oral antidiabetic agents) Drugs active on the inflammation and on the immune answer (FANS, glucocorticoid, drugs active on arthritis) Drugs active on the blood (anticoagulants, thrombolytic and antithrombotics agents, hematopoietic agents) Drugs affecting gastrointestinal function (antiulcer, anti-emetics, laxative) RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY All slides used during lessons will be available on Aulaweb. Any passive memorization is not recommended, while the ability to actively apply the knowledges acquired during the course through the reasoning and the synthesis is valorized.
