AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

To know and understand the main mechanisms of functioning of the musculoskeletal system, also in relation to development in the developmental age, and the main pathological processes related to it. To know the main rheumatological and respiratory diseases in particular in relation to the neuromotor and relational development of the subjects in the developmental age. To know the principles of treatment and the main psychomotor rehabilitation techniques for the pathology of the musculoskeletal system. Know the principles of treatment and the main rehabilitation techniques for rheumatology and respiratory diseases.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

Educational Objectives

To acquire knowledge of the child's neuropsychomotor development and the main impairments associated with disorders of the musculoskeletal system, with particular emphasis on Cerebral Palsy. Students will learn the principles of neuropsychomotor assessment, including the main tools for evaluating global developmental profile and upper limb function, as well as the theoretical foundations of the neuropsychomotor approach to the care of children and their families. The course also aims to provide an understanding of the role of play, the therapeutic relationship, and the principles of Family-Centred Care in planning and implementing rehabilitation interventions.

Expected Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • describe the clinical features of Cerebral Palsy;
  • interpret the child's functional profile by considering motor, neuropsychomotor, emotional, and relational aspects;
  • identify and discuss the main assessment tools for evaluating global developmental profile and upper limb function;
  • apply the principles of the neuropsychomotor approach to clinical case analysis and the definition of rehabilitation goals;
  • recognize the role of the family and play in planning and implementing individualized rehabilitation programs.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The assessment methods are evaluated according to whether the students: - have demonstrated knowledge and understanding skills in a field of post-level studies secondary and are at a level which, characterized by the use of advanced textbooks, also includes the knowledge of some avant-garde themes in their field of study; - are able to apply their knowledge and understanding skills in a way that they can demonstrate a professional approach to their work, and possess appropriate skills both to devise and support arguments that solve problems in the field of study; - have the ability to collect and interpret data (normally in their own field of study) considered useful for determining independent judgments, including reflection on social and scientific issues or ethics connected to them; - know how to communicate information, ideas, problems and solutions to specialists and non-interlocutors specialists; - have developed those learning skills that are necessary for them undertake further studies with a high degree of autonomy.
