CODE 114455 ACADEMIC YEAR 2026/2027 CREDITS 11 cfu anno 1 ROBOTICS ENGINEERING 11963 (LM-32) - GENOVA LANGUAGE English TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA MODULES Questo insegnamento è composto da: MECHANICS OF MECHANISMS AND MACHINES MODELING AND CONTROL OF MANIPULATORS TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB OVERVIEW This class covers the fundamentals of robotics, structured into two modules. The first module focuses on the basics of robot manipulator modeling and control. The second module explores the fundamentals of mechanisms and machines from a mechanical perspective. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES This teaching unit is composed of two modules, each contributing to the development of core competencies in the modeling, analysis, and control of complex mechanical systems, with a particular focus on robotics. Overall, the course aims to provide students with a solid theoretical and practical foundation for the design, control, and analysis of manipulators and complex mechanisms in robotics contexts. PREREQUISITES linear algebra, classical spatial geometry, classical mechanics, vector analysis, classical control theory TEACHING METHODS Students who hold valid certificates relating to Specific Learning Difficulties (SLD), disabilities or other educational needs are invited to contact the lecturer and the school’s disability liaison officer at the start of the course to agree on any teaching arrangements which, whilst respecting the course objectives, take into account individual learning styles. The contact details for the university’s disability liaison officer are available at the following link: https://unige.it/commissioni/comitatoperlinclusionedeglistudenticondisabilita. Please refer to each module for a detailed description of its respective intermediate test. ASSESSMENT METHODS The class is divided into two modules, with specific assessment methods for each module’s learning outcomes detailed within the corresponding module descriptions. FURTHER INFORMATION Students with valid certifications for Specific Learning Disorders (SLD) may request accommodations for exams at least 7 days prior to the exam date by filling out the “accommodation request form” (available via online services at https://modulionline.unige.it/richiesta-adattamenti# no-back), which will be automatically forwarded by the system to the instructor in charge of the course and to the faculty liaison for students with disabilities and SLDs in their School/Department. The student will receive a copy of their request.
