OVERVIEW

The other activities allow to broaden the horizon and integrate the acquisition of further knowledge, skills and abilities into the disciplinary learning, which are considered fundamental for an updated training, which facilitate the access to work or the possible access to subsequent levels of education.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The "other activities" aim to provide the student with additional knowledge, skills and abilities relating to the management and execution of the operational phases of archaeological research both on the field (archaeological excavations and survey campaigns) and in the laboratory, taking also into account the post-excavation phases of re-elaboration of the archaeological documentation on contexts and finds.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The student will have the opportunity to concretely experience the practical aspects of the archaeologist's profession, declined in its different, specific applications.
Depending on the student's choice, participation in the training activities will allow:

• acquire skills and abilities in the context of laboratory activities on issues strictly related to archaeological research and, in general, to the protection, management, enhancement and communication of cultural heritage
• perfecting skills and abilities in the field research, through participation in archaeological excavations and surveys or relief campaign
• broaden knowledge and skills, by participating in seminars, conferences, workshops and study trips
• acquire additional skills and abilities in the field of foreign languages.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

Student's choice between:

1. University exams (taken at Italian or foreign universities), if deemed relevant to the program curriculum, provided they have not already been used for the purposes of the study plan in the event of a transfer from another university or faculty;
2. study periods abroad, completed at university locations and duly documented (3 credits recognized for a duration of no less than two months);
3. Archaeological excavations and surveys, laboratories, internships, and traineeships offered by the School of Humanities or other institutions, provided that such activities are previously recognized by the Master's Degree Program;
4. educational visits, organized by the Master's Degree Program, to archaeological sites, museums, and exhibitions (maximum 2 credits);
5. knowledge of the English language if documented by a recognized international certification, issued following passing an exam at a level equal to or higher than C1 (1 credit for level C1; 2 credits for C2);
6. Knowledge of modern foreign languages ​​other than English, documented by a recognized international certification (e.g., DELF, TestDAF, DELE, etc.), issued upon passing an exam (up to a maximum of 3 credits: 1 credit for level A; 2 credits for level B; 3 for level C);
7. Relational and teaching training activities at public or legally recognized institutions (lasting at least one year, for 3 credits), if deemed relevant to the curriculum of the master's degree program;
8. Certificate of attendance at conferences and seminars strictly relevant to the curriculum (maximum 3 credits for 75 hours);
9. Student representation in the University's self-governing bodies (Department Council, Degree Program Council, Board of Directors, Academic Senate, various committees) (1 credit);
10. Other, subject to review by the Commission and specific approval by the Master's Degree Program Council.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The student must submit to the Other Credits Commission, at least three months before the final discussion, the documentation showing the attestation of the skills acquired and / or the activities carried out and their duration. The student must also declare that he has not previously used the activity carried out to request the attribution of CFU.
