These 3 ECTS can be reached by combining seminars from the same or different disciplines at the total discretion of the student. In addition, seminars and initiatives providing ECTS may also be chosen as “Student Choice Activities”. This laboratory/simulation provide 1 ECTS. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The European Council meeting simulation aims to provide students with specialized knowledge on current European issues, sufficient for individual paper presentation. The list of seminars and initiatives that provide access to credits in History of European Integration scheduled for this academic year is available on the Department's website. SYLLABUS/CONTENT The program for the 2026/2027 academic year includes a simulation of a European Council meeting on the topic "From the Treaties of Rome to European Economic Union?" During the simulation, students are asked to fill the role of a delegate from a member country, selected by the instructor. The required work will be carried out in three phases. In the first phase, once the diplomatic mission has been identified, an agenda (odds of day) containing the topics for discussion is proposed. During the same phase, students are divided by country, requiring them to understand their history and international position. In a second phase, each delegation will prepare one or more resolutions pertaining to one or more agenda items. Finally, the resolutions will be presented to the Assembly, and the delegations will work diplomatically to secure their resolutions' approval, subject to changes dictated by negotiations. Earning Open Badges requires both homework and regular, active participation in class. RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY The reference bibliography will be uploaded on Aulaweb.
