OVERVIEW

The course provides an overview of the Regional System of Protected Areas of Liguria considering it not only for the merits of flora, fauna and habitats or for the opportunities they offer to activities compatible with sustainable development, but framing it in the international context and highlighting the aspects important that led to their establishment and that distinguish their management.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The module provides the student an overview of the conservation policies adopted at international, national and regional level, through the category of protected areas, analysing their role and functions, classification and interactions with Natura 2000 network. Special attention is given to Regional System of Protected Areas of Liguria by providing a detailed analys of territory, regulations in force, plannig and management.
