AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

This integrated two-module course aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to understand and resolve the management challenges facing international companies whilst at the same time raising communicative competence levels in English. The first part (module 1: Intercultural International Management), through case studies and in-class contributions by professionals, focuses in depth on the strategic and management solutions businesses can adopt in adequately facing changing global markets. In the second part, Module 2’s principal objective is to raise students' awareness of the importance of increasing their communication skills in English (B2 level) by not only using sector-specific content but crucially by exploiting the knowledge and competences acquired during their degree courses. The course aims to increase students’ communicative competence and knowledge in these specific topic areas: Global English and understanding diversity in business cultures; expanding into foreign markets and developing partnerships; negotiating deals; the export process: incoterms, contract of sale, contract of transport, customs regulations.
