Autosome and sex-chromosome-associate loci will be presented and explained. STR and SNP identification techniques will be presented focusing also in the New Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies. DNA databases will be presented and the student will be familiar with the interpretation and the presentation of genetic results in cases of human identification and paternity. A special section of the module will be dedicated to the molecular identification of animal and plant species.
