OVERVIEW

The module is part of the integrated course 'Methods and teaching of motor and sports activities'.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The teaching aims to deepen the teaching methodologies through technical and practical activities, in light of the theoretical knowledge related to motor and sporting activities in aquatic environments.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

Knowledge of swimming disciplines. Historical notes on the birth, transformation and technical evolution of the same. Knowledge of the problems related to water education in the acclimatization and pedagogical choices of the teacher as well as organization and planning of the work with objectives, methods and contents. Knowledge of the laws related to buoyancy and advancement in the water. Know and know how to do the four swims with analytical skills: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly including competitive starts and turns.

Analysis of the organizational modalities and the program of international competitions (Olympic).

Knowledge of pedagogical proposals useful for the transition from the recreational-global approach with dexterity and agility objectives to other types of competitive motor activities and fitness: water polo, artistic swimming, diving, rescue swimming and water aerobics or water aerobics gymnastics. Knowledge of the elements that form the basis of swimming activities adapted for special populations. Knowledge of the principles that govern training in the water with particular reference to the youth sector and the positive effects on health.

PREREQUISITES

Theoretical knowledge acquired through lectures.

TEACHING METHODS

Practical lessons held in the swimming pool. During the practical lessons, theoretical notions will be taken up and methodologically applied in water.
