E ADATTATA 11889 (LM-67 R) - GENOVA TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA MODULES Questo insegnamento è composto da: TPA - FUNCTIONAL ASSESSMENT TESTS BASIS OF RESEARCH FUNCTIONAL ASSESSMENT TESTS TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB OVERVIEW The Integrated Course "Methods for Functional Assessment and Research in Adapted Physical Activity" includes modules focused on functional assessment testing and the fundamentals of research, complemented by practical sessions carried out through Technical-Practical Activities (TPA). The course is designed to provide students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills specific to each module, equipping students enrolled in the Master's Degree Programme in Sport Sciences and Techniques with the methodological tools required for functional assessment and for the application of research principles in the field of adapted physical activity. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The course is designed to provide students with the fundamental theoretical and methodological knowledge related to functional assessment and research applied to sport and exercise sciences. Particular emphasis is placed on the selection, application, validity, and reliability of assessment tests, procedures, and data analysis methods used to monitor training and evaluate the different components of physical performance. Special attention is devoted to the application of these methodologies in clinical and pathological settings and during developmental age, with the aim of supporting the design of individualized interventions based on scientific evidence. Upon successful completion of the course, students will have acquired knowledge of the principles of scientific research applied to sport and exercise sciences. They will be able to design basic research protocols, critically evaluate the methodological quality of the scientific literature, and use appropriate technical and scientific terminology, while progressively developing autonomy in the application of research methods and functional assessment techniques. PREREQUISITES The course requires the basic knowledge typically acquired during a Bachelor's degree in Sport and Exercise Sciences, particularly in the areas of anatomy, exercise physiology, biomechanics, training methodology, and the fundamental principles of the scientific method and research.
