OVERVIEW

This course description refers to the compulsory 3-ECTS internships included in the CTUR  Bachelor’s Degree Programme within the Department of Economics.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

During this period, students are provided with the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills acquired throughout their academic programme in a professional context, to develop practical competencies, and to enhance their awareness in relation to future career choices.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The curricular internship, undertaken either in Italy or abroad, enables students to complement their academic education with practical experience in professional settings, thereby strengthening the link between university studies and the application of knowledge.

The expected learning outcomes are structured around two main areas:

a) Applied knowledge and skills:

The internship allows students to consolidate and further develop the knowledge acquired during their academic programme through practical application, while enhancing their practical, methodological, and transferable skills relevant to the labour market.

b) Career orientation:

The internship provides direct exposure to the professional environment, including organisational dynamics, business processes, and decision-making practices of the host organisation, fostering greater awareness of students’ aptitudes and supporting informed academic and career choices.

PREREQUISITES

Curricular internships:

• should be undertaken within the Bachelor’s degree programmes  provided that students have acquired at least 90 ECTS credits duly recorded in their academic transcript; 
• must be carried out entirely during the period in which the student is duly enrolled in the relevant degree programme;
• are, if undertaken in Italy, activated and administered through the University’s dedicated online platform, and, if undertaken abroad, activated and administered by the Internship Office via electronic communication.

TEACHING METHODS

The curricular internship consists of experiential learning activities aimed at the practical application of the knowledge and skills acquired during the academic programme. Such activities, carried out at the host organisation, include supervision by both the host organisation supervisor and the academic supervisor, ongoing monitoring, and final assessment.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

The activities to be carried out as part of the internship are defined in the student’s training plan, in agreement with the host organisation, and are subject to approval by the academic supervisor.

EXAMS

ASSESSMENT METHODS

Upon completion of the internship, the host organisation supervisor prepares a final report, which is subsequently submitted for approval to the academic supervisor. Subject to a positive evaluation, the corresponding ECTS credits are recorded in the student’s academic record.
