In this context, the study of the anatomy of the nervous system is indispensable to face the profession with awareness. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The purpose of teaching Anatomy of the Central Nervous System is to provide students with an adequate knowledge of the Nervous System so that they can understand its normal functioning and its relationship with the structures of the human body. The final objective of the course is to provide students with a good knowledge of the different structures of the nervous system and how they are interconnected for proper functioning. The understanding of the topics covered in class should allow the student to further deepen specific topics in complete autonomy. In addition, teaching has the following objectives: • providing students with the basics of Neuroanatomy • providing students with a general understanding of nervous system structures • introducing issues related to the role of the nervous system • providing students with the ability to distinguish central and peripheral nervous system organs • developing in students the skills related to the functions related to the Central Nervous System. At the end of the course, the student will be able to: • Knowledge of neuroanatomical bases • Recognizing the different organs of the central nervous system • Applying the acquired knowledge to the anatomical/functional role of the nervous system • Anatomically distinguish the central and peripheral nervous systems • Analytically describe the main afferent and efferent nerve pathways • Explaining the embryonic origin of the nervous system PREREQUISITES No special previous knowledge is required. EXAMS EXAM DESCRIPTION The final exam will consist of a written test (n. 30 multiple choice questions to be solved in 35 minutes). ASSESSMENT METHODS The verification of learning takes place through the only final exam that aims to ascertain the actual acquisition by the student of the expected learning outcomes. The student to pass the exam, then report a grade of not less than 18/30, must demonstrate: • Knowledge of neuroanatomical bases • Recognizing the different organs of the central nervous system • Applying the acquired knowledge to the anatomical/functional role of the nervous system • Anatomically distinguish the central and peripheral nervous systems • Analytically describe the main afferent and efferent nerve pathways • Explaining the embryonic origin of the nervous system Agenda 2030 - Sustainable Development Goals Good health and well being Quality education
