OVERVIEW

The course aims to cover some key aspects of private law from the perspective of agri-food law. In particular, consumer protection, producer liability, and contractual relationships within the agri-food supply chain will be the main topics covered.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The objective of the module is to enable students to acquire the fundamental concepts of private law that are essential for understanding the specific instruments provided by Italian private law for consumer protection, within the perspective of agri‑food law. Part of the module adopts a theoretical approach, while another part is practical and application‑oriented, so that students learn to directly apply the concepts acquired through the analysis of relevant case studies.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The specific objective of the module is to provide students with a basic understanding of private law, enabling them to understand and, at least in part, independently use (within their future professional field) certain regulatory and legal instruments, as well as certain reasoning techniques, of Italian private law.

 Part of the module will be more theoretical (i.e., focused on learning concepts and notions), while another part will be practical and operational (i.e., focused on applied knowledge), analyzing a limited and selected number of cases.

PREREQUISITES

No prerequisites are required.
