CODE 90569 ACADEMIC YEAR 2026/2027 CREDITS 12 cfu anno 1 INGEGNERIA NAVALE 11883 (L-9 R) - GENOVA TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA MODULES Questo insegnamento è composto da: SHIP DRAWING SHIP GEOMETRY TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB OVERVIEW The course in “Ship Drawing”, divided into the modules of “Ship Technical Drawing” and “Ship Geometry”. The “Ship Technical Drawing” module illustrates the use of drawing in the naval industries for the communication of design and manufacturing choices in accordance with standardization and methods of representation. The “Ship Geometry” module illustrates the vessel as the aspect that characterises Naval and Nautical engineers with respect to other industrial fields. The course is devoted to giving the basic knowledge on naval architecture, including hull shape and hydrostatic computations. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES This teaching unit provides students with tools for the graphic representation of the ship and its elements, in order to allow its design, construction and maintenance. PREREQUISITES It is essential to have general knowledge of the use of the calculator and the Windows ® operating system. Furthermore, a basic knowledge of descriptive geometry, integral calculus, the concept of space, and vector calculus is required. Specifically, it is calculated as the average of the two module grades, rounded up. Honors ('cum laude') are awarded if the highest grade is achieved in both modules and at least one of them has received honors. ASSESSMENT METHODS The assessment criteria for the course are defined by the examination methods of its two constituent modules.
