AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The objective of this teaching unit is to teach the fundamental aspects of the juridical system (in particular, the Italian one), so that students may attend profitably the second subsequent juridical teaching unit and may also understand the issues that are likely to emerge from other non-juridical teaching units in the M.Sc. program.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The teaching unit will help students to learn the most important juridical concepts which are necessary in order to understand environmental law.

PREREQUISITES

No prerequisite is required.

TEACHING METHODS

The teaching unit will consist mainly of lessons about the topics of the matter.

Classes will be delivered in a hybrid format, simultaneously in person in the classroom and via live streaming on Microsoft Teams.

Classes delivered synchronously online or in a hybrid format: 40 hours

Teaching consists of lectures supported by multimedia presentations, delivered in the classroom and remotely via Microsoft Teams.

Students with valid certifications for Specific Learning Disorders (SLDs), disabilities or other educational needs are invited to contact the teacher and the School's contact person for disability at the beginning of the teaching to agree on possible teaching arrangements that, while respecting the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning patterns. SYLLABUS/CONTENT

The teaching unit will concern useful topics for studying environment law, among which:

meanings of law,

notion of juridical system,

State and its organs,

local bodies,

sources of law and the criteria to solve conflicts between them,

notions of nullity and annulment,

administrative act: elements and defects,

recourses against legislative acts and against administrative acts,

rights and duties of the persons,

elements of international law,

elements of European Union law, 

kinds af liability: civil liability, criminal liability and administrative liability.

RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY

Specific guidelines on the reference bibliography will be provided by the professor at the beginning of the lessons.

EXAMS

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The exam will consist in a test of 30 questions: for each question there will be the choice among three answers.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The exam grade will depend on the number of correct answers given by the student (for instance, the exam grade will be 28 if the student will answer correctly to 28 among the 30 questions of the test).
