CODE 111658 ACADEMIC YEAR 2026/2027 CREDITS 6 cfu anno 4 CHIMICA E TECNOLOGIA FARMACEUTICHE 11674 (LM-13.) - GENOVA TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA MODULES Questo insegnamento è composto da: PHARMACOECONOMY (MODULE) PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY MANAGEMENT (MODULE) OVERVIEW For the Pharmaceutical company management module, the course covers the main theoretical models of strategic analysis and the basics of some business functions, relating general frameworks to the specifics of pharmaceutical companies. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES To provide a general introduction to socioeconomics, with particular attention to pharmacoeconomics, health economics aspects, pharmaceutical pricing, the main economic evaluation methods, and the quantification of costs and outcomes. For the Pharmaceutical company management module, the aim is to introduce students to the main tools and methods of strategic analysis and to guide them in applying theoretical models to the operational management of a pharmaceutical company. PREREQUISITES For the Pharmaceutical companies management module, no prior knowledge is required. EXAMS EXAM DESCRIPTION For the Pharmaceutical company management module, the exam is in oral form. The test covers all the topics discussed during the course. ASSESSMENT METHODS For the Pharmaceutical company management module, during the exam the candidate will need to show they have learned the theoretical content, are comfortable with the basic models, and know the specific technical terminology. They will also need to demonstrate, through proposing and/or commenting on concrete examples, a sufficient critical ability when it comes to reading problems and identifying possible solutions.
