CODE 117628 ACADEMIC YEAR 2026/2027 CREDITS 3 cfu anno 2 SCIENZE E TECNICHE DELLO SPORT 11890 (LM-68 R) - GENOVA SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR M-EDF/02 LANGUAGE Italian TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA SEMESTER 1° Semester MODULES Questo insegnamento è un modulo di: TECHNICAL ASPECTS OF SPORTS PERFORMANCE 1 OVERVIEW This course provides an overview of the scientific and technical knowledge related to different team sports disciplines. The course includes lectures, seminars, and guest presentations delivered by representatives and experts from Italian Sports Federations, offering students direct insight into the organizational, technical, and scientific aspects of team sports practiced in Italy. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The educational objectives of the course are to acquire skills related to the main training methods of Technical, Tactical and Physical preparation used by high-level teams in the most important Team Sports practiced in Italy; to use the analysis tools of sports performance not only for the control and planning of training, but also for scientific research applied to sport; to know the organizational structure of the technical staff in team sports as well as the regulatory principles of the construction and management of the Team in the different situations of Club and National Team. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES Students will develop: An understanding of the physiological and biomechanical principles underlying training methodologies applied in team sports. Proficiency in the methodological tools required to design, implement, and supervise training programs in various team sport settings. Knowledge of the main technical, tactical, and physical conditioning methods employed by high-performance teams across different team sports practiced in Italy. Understanding of the organizational structure of coaching and performance staff, as well as the professional specializations involved in different team sports. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: Demonstrate knowledge of the determinants of high-level performance in different team sports. Evaluate and select the most appropriate training plan according to the specific characteristics and demands of a given team sport. Design and develop training strategies tailored to the athlete’s level of conditioning, performance goals, and sport-specific requirements. PREREQUISITES - TEACHING METHODS The course consists of classroom-based lectures. Throughout the course, instructors and experts from various Italian Sports Federations will contribute to the teaching activities, providing students with broader knowledge of the wide range of team sports practiced in Italy and the methodologies adopted within their respective sporting contexts. Students will be required to prepare, independently and at home, a written report on one of the team sports disciplines covered during the course. The report will then be presented and discussed orally on the examination date. This module is part of the integrated course “Technical Aspects of Sports Performance 1.” The examination will be considered successfully completed with a minimum grade of 18/30. The final grade for the integrated course will be calculated as the weighted average of the grades obtained in the different theoretical modules that constitute the integrated course. See also the "Other information" section of this syllabus. ASSESSMENT METHODS The written exam will verify the acquisition of the basic knowledge of the teaching. The questions will allow to evaluate the ability to apply the acquired knowledge in theoretical and practical fields. You will have to be able to connect and integrate the knowledge learned during the lessons with the knowledge acquired during individual study. The written exam (multiple choice quiz) will mainly focus on the topics covered during theoretical lessons and will aim to evaluate not only the achievement of an adequate level of basic knowledge, but also the acquisition of the ability to analyse critically the questions that will be asked during the exam.
